Frequently Asked Questions
Can non-members apply for jobs via the web site?
Non-members are not eligible to apply for postings on our web site.
Do I need to submit a cover letter along with the resume?
Employers will often specify this requirement. If you believe that a cover letter addresses specific job requirements or brings out other aspects of your background, use your discretion to submit it along with the resume. The web site is currently set up to accept up to 2 documents to send to an employer.
In what form can I submit my resume?
Either .doc (MS Word format) or .pdf (Adobe Acrobat) format is acceptable.
How long will it take for my application to be reviewed?
This is completely at the discretion of the employer. Neither CFA Institute or the CFA Society of Dallas-FW will review any aspects of any job candidate's application.
How often are available jobs updated?
Job content is updated weekly.
Why do I need a separate login and password for certain jobs?
For security reasons, jobs that are initially listed with CFA Institute - and not with the local society - require the member to enter his CFA Institute web site login and password. For those jobs in particular, once the applicant has entered her CFA Institute login credentials and a new browser window opens, she should not have to re-enter login credentials to view additional jobs, as long as the new browser window is kept open.
